The Southern Humboldt Chamber of Commerce & Visitor Center is proud to present the Third Annual Southern Humboldt Fire Department Games—an exciting afternoon celebrating teamwork, skill, and community spirit.

This year, the Games are bigger than ever. We are partnering with the Family Resource Center’s Touch-A-Truck event to bring together families, emergency services, and community members for a day of hands-on learning, connection, and friendly competition.

The Competition

Volunteer Fire Departments, Technical Rescue Teams, and Search & Rescue crews from across the region will compete in a series of classic firefighting challenges designed to test speed, coordination, and teamwork:

• Quick Dress
• Bucket Brigade
• Hose Coupling
• Water Polo
• Tug-of-War

Teams will compete for the coveted Firemen’s Trophy—Southern Humboldt’s own VFD “Stanley Cup.”

Last year’s champions, Garberville Fire Protection District, will be defending their title. The question is: who will take it home this year?

Competition Prizes

• $500 – Best Overall Team
• $300 – Contender Award
• $100 – Spirit Award

Touch-A-Truck and Community Activities

Held alongside the Games, the Touch-A-Truck event offers families and youth the opportunity to:

• Explore emergency and service vehicles
• Learn about careers in public service
• Meet the individuals who help keep our communities safe

Participation in the Games helps inspire the next generation of firefighters and first responders while adding energy and excitement to the day.
