Merchant’s Guild Employee Job Description

Hours Per Week: 2-Days
Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Sweep the sidewalks and streets of downtown Garberville and Redway and perform other duties as assigned.
• Pressure wash sidewalks six times per year.
• Remove garbage and litter from downtown Garberville and Redway’s sidewalks, streets, gutters, parking lots, planters, trees, etc.
• Remove garbage/litter from Redwood Drive between Garberville and Redway and take it to the dump.
• Weed whack areas where necessary as needed throughout the year.
• Run errands and other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

Requirements regarding the use of your own vehicle

• You must have your own vehicle to transport tools and garbage.
• You must possess a valid driver’s license (in accordance with the state).
• You must maintain current car insurance (and provide proof of such).
• You must practice all OSHA job safety and health requirements.  Said requirements are posted in the Chamber office located at 782 Redwood Drive, Garberville, CA

Mileage will be reimbursed at the current federal rate, traveling to and from job locations only.

The Chamber will provide all tools necessary for the position, including but not limited to:

• Gloves
• Brooms
• Dustpans
• Shovels
• Rakes
• Cones
• Safety vests
• Safety glasses
• Garbage bags

This position requires repetitive motion when sweeping, standing, and walking for long periods of time, lifting of heavy bags of garbage, and general physical exertion.
