Garberville, CA – February 25, 2025 – The Southern Humboldt Chamber of Commerce (SHCOC) is excited to invite you to the 4th Annual Fireman’s Ball with a Humboldt Twist on Saturday, May 17th, at the beautiful Benbow Historic Inn. This special evening celebrates and supports our dedicated local volunteer fire departments while offering a night of fine dining, live music, and community spirit.

A Look Back: Last Year’s Success

Last year’s event SOLD OUT, and we raised more than $9,000.00! Congratulations to the Palo Verde Volunteer Fire Department, who won the drawing for the pot of money.

An Evening of Elegance & Community

“We are thrilled to bring you the Fireman’s Ball at the historic Benbow Historic Inn, providing an elegant setting for an evening of community celebration and support,” said Yvonne Hendrix, Executive Director of the Southern Humboldt Chamber of Commerce. “This event allows us to show our appreciation for our local firefighters and contribute to their ongoing efforts to keep our community safe.”

Sally Macdonald, Managing Partner of the Benbow Historic Inn, echoed this sentiment, adding, “The Benbow Historic Inn is honored to host the 4th Annual Fireman’s Ball. The brave firefighters of Southern Humboldt play an integral role in the health and safety of our community, and we are proud to support them in any way we can.”

Evening Schedule

• 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM: Dinner
• 6:30 PM – 10:00 PM: Live Music with Blue Rhythm Revue 
• 6:00 PM – 6:30 PM: Complimentary Wine Tasting provided by Briceland Vineyards

Support Your Local Fire Departments

All local Southern Humboldt fire departments, rescue organizations, and extended fire departments outside of Southern Humboldt are invited to participate in the fundraising raffle.

How It Works:

• Each Southern Humboldt Fire Department in attendance can enter their department’s name into a drawing.
• At the end of the evening, the winning department will receive the total funds raised.
• All event profits beyond the cost of each dinner ticket will be added to the prize pot.
• 100% of raffle proceeds go into the pot for the winning fire department.
• Exciting prize raffles will be held throughout the evening!

Rules:

• Participants must be a Southern Humboldt Fire Department or Rescue Team.
• A representative from each department must be present at the event to qualify.
• The winning department must be present to claim the prize.

Dress Code: Semi-Formal
