Community Gathering/Memorial for ED Denson

Eugene ” ED ” Denson, our beloved KMUD programmer and civil rights attorney, passed away on April 12th. His wife, MaryAlice, has asked Emily Ficklin-Wood and Darryl Cherney to produce a potluck community gathering to remember him, with music and tributes, on Saturday, Sept. 28, from 2 to 7 p.m. at the Southern Humboldt Community Park on Sprowel Creek Road in lower Garberville.

Donations are needed for the memorial and family expenses. MaryAlice has OK’d any leftover funds to be given to ED’s beloved KMUD, where he was on air on several shows for 37 years. ED played my music constantly, week after week, on his show. He got his law degree at age 60 and then began defending civil rights and cannabis growers. He owned Kicking Mule Records and was a song collector extraordinaire. We have lost a giant.
