Southern Humboldt Farmers Market
Certified markets were established to promote direct marketing from local farm to consumers table. Farmers are located in Humboldt County and can only sell that which they have grown. Certified Markets help support the sustainability of the small family farm by giving the farmer an opportunity to sell direct to the consumer at fair market value. Our Farmers Markets ensures that the consumer is buying a local product that is picked when ripe and not picked green to compensate for traveling 1000's of miles. The consumer is guaranteed to find the freshest vine ripened fruits, vegetables, local honey, 100% grass fed beef, locally raised pork, lamb, pasture-raised chicken, free range eggs, mushrooms, flowers, herbs, trees, and bedding plants direct from the producer.
What you’ll find at these markets includes but is not limited to: Eggs, fresh cut flowers, carrots, beets, radishes, lettuce, greens, and salad mixes, broccoli, cauliflower, tomatoes, corn, green beans, potatoes, green peppers, onions, squash, artichokes, berries, peaches, apples, dried and fresh herbs, mushrooms, 100% grass fed beef, pork, lamb, pasture-raised chicken, breads, baked goods, jams, bedding plants, shrubs, trees, and flowering rhododendrons.
The markets offer a large array of plant starts. Even the starts do better in the garden when they are raised in Humboldt County. The farmers select only the varieties that are hearty in our climate and the consumer is purchasing the same starts that the farmers themselves will be planting on their farms.
We also feature a selection of local crafts from Humboldt County, including jewelry, local tie dye clothing, woven rugs and ceramic pottery.
The Garberville market also features live music from local artists and a relaxing sunny location on the Town Square to enjoy local prepared food.
